A man, who police later identified as 23-year-old Saeed Ahmad, has been charged with manslaughter after crashing his burning car and leaving his date to die while he casually hailed a taxi.
The woman’s body was found in a 2007 Infiniti G35 on the Gowanus Expressway in Brooklyn, New York, and authorities say the driver — believed to be her date Saeed Ahmad — hailed a taxi in the middle of the road while she was burning to death.
When firefighters eventually put out the fire, they found a badly burned woman in the passenger seat. She was pronounced dead at the scene. She was later identified as 25-year-old Harleen Grewel, of Astoria.
