A woman has been found guilty of incest and sentenced to 10 years of probation after she was found guilty of marrying her own biological mother.

Misty Spann, 26 and from Oklahoma, pleaded guilty to illegally marrying 44 year old mother Patricia Spann after a child welfare investigation unearthed their incestuous relationship.

Patricia Spann was previously married to her biological son but that marriage was annulled in 2010.

District Judge Ken Graham gave Misty Spann a deferred sentence of 10 years, at least two of which must be under the supervision of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, court minutes show.

Patricia Spann, who is also charged with incest, is to appear in court in the new year.

Misty’s brother, Cody Spann, said: “I think she’s worthless she put my sister into this. She forced my sister into this, there’s a lot of people that now that.

“For you to want to put your own daughter through this, what kind of person are you?

“If that’s what you want that’s on you, but none of us kids want that.”
