North Korea’s Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho yesterday threatened the United States with “a hail of fire” and said President Donald Trump has “lit the wick of war” with his country in the latest exchange of hostilities between the two countries.
He said: “With his bellicose and insane statement at the United Nations, Trump, you can say, has lit the wick of a war against us.
“We need to settle the final score, only with a hail of fire, not words.”
Ri’s comments came shortly after the U.S bombers conducted military drills over North Korea.
Ri went on to add that North Korea is nearing its goal to achieve full nuclear capability to counter any U.S. threat, calling it the “real balance of power with the United States” and describing the weapons as a “sword of justice.”
“Our principal position is that we will never agree to any talks in which our nuclear weapons will be the subject of negotiations,” Ri commented.
This is not the first time that North Korea’s foreign minister has verbally attacked Trump.
Following Trump’s recent speech at the UN, the North Korean foreign minister said Trump made an “irreversible mistake” and threatened the “entire U.S. mainland” with missiles.
Trump responded by tweeting, “Just heard Foreign Minister of North Korea speak at U.N. If he echoes thoughts of Little Rocket Man, they won’t be around much longer!”
